Kampert and Helm Rotaform (which once started operating in Amsterdam’s Barndesteeg) did not want to make a classic commemorative book to mark their 125thanniversary. They asked Geert Mak to write down the history of 125 years in Amsterdam, interwoven with the history of the company. I decided to tell the story again, but then in photographs. In this way it became a two-part book. I illustrated the photos with quotes, which are printed in soft silver over the photos. Some people thought the text was badly printed, but this was the intention. I call it whispering texts.
