Aids, the Killing Bite of Love
Aids, the Killing Bite of Love
poster for International Poster Exhibition about AIDS prevention in Paris,
1993, handmade with a stencil and silkscreen
This was a commission by the French government. The commission: make the issue of AIDS clear to secondary-school children. René Knip drew a penis with balls that turned into a dragon-like snake. The picture is disgusting and has to give you the idea that it’s a good idea to put a condom over those poisonous teeth, so that AIDS is not able to bite with them. The poster was not printed but made as a stencil. We also launched a major graffiti campaign in Paris with this picture.
